Move Over, London: Milan Just Unveiled Europe’s Most Elegant Ice Rink

Portrait Milano, part of the Lungarno Collection, has transformed its Piazza del Quadrilatero into a winter destination with the launch of The Gift: Portrait of a Winter’s Tale – a large open-air ice-skating rink set in the heart of Milan. Open daily from 11am to 7pm until 6 January 2026, the rink invites residents, families, and visitors to experience the festive season in a uniquely atmospheric setting.

Admission is €15, with all proceeds donated to Fondazione Mente, the Milan-based organisation supporting children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Enhancing the festive landscape, four glass greenhouses line the courtyard, each hosting a dedicated brand. Ferragamo presents a chalet-style boutique featuring seasonal accessories and special-edition pieces, while its collaboration with Samsung showcases Galaxy innovations and AI-led styling tools. Perfect Moment introduces its AW25 skiwear collection, and Lindt brings its chocolate-making tradition to life through tastings and live demonstrations.

The programme includes open-air ice shows on 13 and 20 December. Guests can enjoy winter favourites by the rink such as hot chocolate, mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, and panettone. Throughout the season, 10_11, the hotel’s bar and restaurant serves festive menus run throughout the holidays alongside New Year’s Eve Dinner and New Year’s Day Brunch.
